The personal learning network for educators

I've just agreed to organize a "barcamp" for K-12 students to participate in as a parallel event during BarcampSWFL in Jan 2010.

Have any of you ever had students participate in a barcamp - we're gonna call this one "KidCamp" or "Jr.Camp" to alleviate the negative connotations of the term "bar"camp.

We could choose one theme - like social media in education or Web 2.0 tools or healthy kids or whatever...or we could let the kids present on anything they feel like presenting on...

I'm looking for tips - ideas - stories that you can share about your experiences with such an event...
What could this day really look like for our kids - what would the benefits be?

Look forward to your comments!
