Hello everyone,

Just wanted to see if this group is up & running!

I am a doctoral student in Ed. Tech, working on my proposal.

Really interested in online collaboration & online teacher certification.

Anyone out there getting certified via online program & using a PLE??

Hi!  I'm studying elementary education at Michigan State University with a specialization in Urban Education and Language Arts.  I'll be student teaching in Detroit this year and can't wait!  I love learning by talking to other people, which is why I'm here!

Hi! I'm studying secondary education at the University of Northern British Columbia, in Prince George, BC, Canada. My area of focus is in Social Studies (BA History from University of Lethbridge). The use of tech in educational development hasn't been covered in my program yet (that course starts in Sept) so I'm just feeling my way for now.

Hello all! I'm studying secondary education at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. My chosen subjects are social studies and chemistry, though I'm considering adding health to the mix as well. Hoping to meet and talk with some of you!! (^_^)

Ok, it seems like you've been doing something very similar to what we've been doing. We have included twitter in our PLN's, although I have not found it useful. Do you mind going into a bit of detail about how you have connected via twitter?
Thanks!
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Sorry for the delayed reply, I have run out of internet access for the month (following too many links :))
I completed a managing e-learning course last year during which I set up my blog and created a webquest for year 8 students.
The importance of building a network was stresed, however, twitter wasn't mentioned and I have found twitter to be the quickest way to connect and discover groups like this one! I am still in the process of building my PLN and I don't think the process should ever stop, I just need more hours in the day and a larger broadband limit.
Regards,
Kylie

Hey Kylie,
It's awesome to hear about your studies in Australia. Our class at Penn State has been creating Personal Learning Networks and blogs all semester. Do you have a blog or any other networks that you are connected to? Do networks like this one play a large role in your studies?
