The Educator's PLN

The personal learning network for educators

This book is based on15 years of research--involving many millions of students and syntheses of over 800 meta-analyses--that comprise the largest ever research project about what practices in schools work best to improve student learning. It reveals the power of teachers, importance of feedback, and a model of learning and understanding based on the notion of visible teaching and visible learning. A key theme throughout is that what works best for students is similar to what works best for teachers. Despite current interest in evidence-based education and a raging debate about test scores, this book focuses on the evidence to build and defend a model of teaching and learning. Its dashboard for comparing innovations in teaching and schools that is both nifty and useful.
