The beginning of the month saw the publication of an insightful and thought provoking post at Mathalicious. The success of any project is largely due to how well it has been thought out. In drivers ed. one of the few things I remember is the instructor telling me "to plan your route ahead of time, so that you are not making flash decisions while in a moving vehicle surrounded by other moving vehicles doing unpredictable things." Seemed like very sound advice to a nervous new driver, and a new teacher.

I have recently become more involved in an interesting pilot project that is building off of my summer research. Funded by the Gates Foundation I am embarking on uncovering the nuances of moving towards a Blended integration of technology into a Project Based learning environment. I hope to discover innovative ways to work with teachers and students and I hope that you all will follow and provide feedback throughout the process

In the spring I trained all of the Learning Specialist in our network on Khan Academy. They used it a remedial tool for students who struggle in math and as a way to provide extra support and practice, as a skill builder. For summer school we have decided to launch a prototyping of blended learning using google's new Chromebooks.
