The personal learning network for educators

I found a great pin on Pinterest that provides teachers with specific structured questions that can be used in any lesson plan to incorporate critical thinking skills. The link provides a table that is broken down into each of the critical thinking areas- knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Within each section is a variety of questions and key terms that teachers can use in their individual lesson plans to engage students in that specific critical thinking skill.

I really like this chart because it is really easy to use and apply to any lesson. For example, if I am teaching a lesson on ecocsystems in a science class, I can refer to my chart, and pull questions from each area of critical thinking to ensure that I am appropriately engaging my students. I could ask them, "What are the parts or features of your favorite ecosystem" (analysis) or "What solutions would you suggest for the animals living at the bottom of food chains to do to best survive?" (synthesis).

This is a great and easy way to incorporate critical thinking skills into any lesson plan!
