I read the blog post from "How systems support practices" by Tom Schimmer, the blog post is http://edupln.com/profiles/blogs/how-systems-support-practices. From the article I found that Mr. Schimmer talked about how teachers are failing as teachers in bad schools because they do not have the support system needed to succeed as a teacher in the school. That many teachers aren't bad teachers, they just lack the knowledge of the appropriate channels and support groups that are available to them.
I think that it does hold true that a teacher need the know what resources they have and qualify for so they can take advantage of people who have been in their exact position. But they need to know them and there are no one there to tell them. To add on to the article, maybe a person can be put into the position to help new people to the profession.
