Google releases searchable directory of Google Home and Google Assistant commands, apps & services

If you are like me, and millions of others, you bought or received a Google Home or Google Home Mini this holiday season. I bought and gifted several of these amazing new smart speakers, and I must say that I cannot get enough of them!

I have also enjoyed trying to figure out all of the interesting functions of my shiny new devices, and although I had some luck exploring, I was really looking for a resource directly from Google. Unfortunately, finding out exactly what Google Home and Google Assistant can do has not been easy.

Thankfully, the search giant has recognized this and posted a Google Assistant and Actions searchable database detailing everything that Google Assistant can do as well as all the apps, services, and devices it is currently compatible with.

The directory covers over "1 million things to try" with Google Assistant including commands and integrations for the more than 1,500 smart devices from 200+ brands Google Assistant already works or is compatible with. With categories and subcategories such as Art & Lifestyle, Home Control, Travel & Transportation, and Weather, it it much more than merely a list of commands and is quite comprehensive.

Check it out of yourself here: assistant.google.com/explore.

I've spent a great deal of time trying to teach my grade 6 students various self-regulation skills such as planning, goal-setting, self-monitoring, time management, self-control, and reflection, but in past years it hasn't quite "taken" the way I hoped it would. I talk about how important this skills are until I'm blue in the face and I usually get…See More

A Childhood Educator Is Becoming Commonplace In Teacher Training

School boards and individual teachers are seeking out new ways to improve and maintain their own learning process. Teachers with a passion for their career are routinely discovering innovative ways to brush up on skills, and to develop new methods for delivering information. Teachers know that children have a huge capacity for retaining knowledge, and that every child has their own unique way of grasping the information delivered in the classroom.
