Thank you for helping to clarify the connection between PLN and twitter for students and educators. I'm working on developing my PLN. It's been an amazing journey. It has changed my work as curriculum director -- I've embraced new ways to collaborate, learn, contribute and question. In our district, we're searching for ways to help students, teachers and administrators to understand the value of developing their PLN -- small steps.

Thanks Tom! Couldn't agree more, Twitter is like a great staffroom where I meet these amazing educators. I gave it a try in July last year and I'm still overwhelmed by its possibilities. For those who doubt its usefulness, here is a great article that reinforces the power of networking

I do so much like this intro video to using Twitter as a PLN. Will share this with Admin in my school division. As well, I learn so much DAILY from my PLN!! Can't live w/o them.

Next week, I am working with a librarian/Spanish teacher to set up twitter accounts with 2 class of High School juniors who will share tweets in Spanish and follow classmates's tweets.

Great interview that clearly and succinctly describes how twitter and the pln are supporting educational development, Tom. We're are witnessing a sea change in CPD that is driven by individuals who communicate and collaborate both locally and globally

This is an amazing concept. Big change from when my mom was an educator in the 60's and 70's. She basically worked behind closed doors and teachers never shared ideas. In fact they were guarded and protected their work and would get angry if someone "stole" their ideas.
Having a bigger pond to fish in is definitely helpful. Thanks.
