Event Description

How can students with disabilities benefit from emerging technologies and participation in global projects? This session will examine the universal design for learning model as a pedagogical framework for teaching students with disabilities. We will investigate how Web 2.0 technologies, virtual learning networks, and assistive technology such as iPads can aid in differentiating instruction for all students.

Global projects can create situations where abstract concepts can become concrete, and real-world connections can be made. Participation in classroom exchanges, interdisciplinary global projects, video conferencing, and facetime can bring the classroom to life and allow for meaningful and lifelong learning experiences. Participants will receive an annotated list of resources, which can be used to add a technological and global perspective to any classroom environment.
